We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our team and provide essential support to individuals in the comfort of their homes. As a PCA with Advocate Health Care Services, you will play a key role in helping clients with their daily living activities, ensuring they receive the care and support needed to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
- Help with mobility and transfers, including using mobility devices an transferring from bed to chair.
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful conversations to enhance emotional well-being.
- Prepare and assist with meals, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Help clients with medication reminders and basic health monitoring.
- Light housekeeping duties such as vacuuming and tidying up to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Escort clients to appointments and social outings as needed.
- Report any changes in client condition or needs to the supervisor or healthcare team.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a caregiving or personal care role is preferred but not required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Current valid Minnesota Driver’s License and reliable transportation is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable, with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals.
- Basic understanding of personal care and hygiene procedures.
- Must be able to lift and assist with physical tasks as required.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule:
- Part-time hours with flexible shifts.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
